I love this question! Why? Because as someone who makes a full-time income from working at home, I think I'm a tad bit qualified to give some input.
Spoiler: I am not going to give you names of websites or affiliate links, or point you to place which most likely are scams (not saying everything is a scam). I'm instead going to focus on how you can literally discover what is the right thing for you to do and how to make money.
If you truly want to make more than just spare change, read through the answer below.
Working from home does not necessarily mean, freelancing. This is one of the biggest misconceptions. One can work for a company from home. There are so many companies that are okay with the concept of remote workers. Doesn't matter if you're in the US or across the world. Companies will hire anyone whom they feel are an excellent resource.
Jason Fried, Partner at 37Signals (the makers of BaseCamp), has an excellent video on this, working remotely:
Today, with the advent of all things internet, ask around for employers who are hiring remote workers. My last employer CoinX had no hesitation in hiring me. User the CEO of CoinX was looking for someone in a particular area of interest in the world of payments, and she came across my contributions and then decided to pick up the phone and make contact. It did not matter where I was. What mattered was my ability to deliver.
I worked with her for about 13 months, before I decided to go back to consultancy/freelancing again.
It is not easy finding list of companies that are looking to hire remotely. I grant you that much. LinkedIn and your social media avenues are your best friend in finding such work. When in doubt — Ask!
You have to keep asking and looking around. If you don’t see a company hiring remote workers, there is no harm in writing to them and inquiring if they might be.
Two of the hottest areas for remote workers are Social Media Managers (or Community Managers) and Customer Support. Both these job types allow for people to work from home. Sometimes it is a matter of convincing small companies to hire remotely. Don’t give up easily.
Two recommended articles to read regarding remote workers you should read are:

To make money, either by working full-time, part-time or freelancing from home, requires that you are passionate about something. Passion trumps everything and all obstacles.
Passion is just one side of the coin, the other side is building-value. Whether you build value in your skills-set, or the content, effort, etc. you put on the web, you must build-value for to make money.
As with anything else, there needs to be a demand for something. This something is what you have to be passionate about. If you have something that has a demand, and you build value, you can bet your bottom dollar, that someone will be willing to pay you for your time or effort (contribution).
I often cite this quote of mine:
"Work finds talent, Talent finds work"
The next logical question people ask is, "I have talent, how do I let others know of it?" to which my reply is, exactly through questions like these on Quora. You need to have a social media strategy in this day and age. Imagine a stadium filled with 50,000 coders. How do you stand out? What makes you so special in the entire sea of people that you will stick out? There answer to this problem is not simple. There are literally tons of articles and How-To's out there on how this can be accomplished. Take a strategy or two and stick to it. Honestly, people complain about this so much, that they are not getting work, etc., but others are. So why can't... (more)

How can I really make money online?
I'm going to tell you two secrets that not many people know about and the few who do know aren't sharing.
Secret 1
Expertise is overrated.
There's a lot of information online. Some good, some bad, and some in between. Within the good category are some things called ultimate guides. I know you've seen them:
“The ultimate guide to conversion rate optimization”
“The ultimate guide to link building”
“The ultimate guide to creating epic content”
“The ultimate guide to Twitter marketing”
Some of these guides are really really good. If you were to study them and implement the strategies you'd instantly be amongst the top 5% of people with that skill in the world.
Once you get a few clients under your belt, you'd jump to the top 1% of people in the world with that skill.
Secret 2
Here's the other secret, people will pay a huge premium for skills they CAN learn but don't have the time to.
Let me illustrate with an example.
Last year, I was banging my head against the wall while trying to figure out how to increase my conversion rates from 4% to at least 10% site wide.
That's when I stumbled across an ultimate guide to conversion rate optimization by Qualaroo.
It was really detailed and opened my eyes to some things I was missing in the whole CRO process.
I revamped my approach and my conversion rate doubled almost instantly. Once I added psychology, my conversion rates shot up again.
It was like magic.
Me being me, I looked for a way to earn an income from my newly found knowledge.
I packaged my information and skills as a service and pitched the hell out of a few companies. 2 bit and paid me $1,000 bucks a month to optimize their websites.
It was tedious work but it validated what I'd always suspected. You don't need to be an expert to get paid like one.
Earlier this year, I did the same thing with Instagram marketing; you can read about that in this Quora answer.
So what's the point of me telling you this story?
You can make money on the internet doing practically anything but the fastest way to start is to sell a service. If you don't think you have the skills, read a really detailed ultimate guide and pitch small businesses the insights you gain as service.

Making Money With Internet Marketing
In april 2016 I discovered Internet Marketing for myself. It was a completely new world to me. I got into it by purchasing a pretty expensive course about email marketing which pretty much changed my life! I am able to work from anywhere I want (as long as I have a working internet connection) and make money online :)
The actual term “Internet Marketing” is a blanket term which refers to any method of making money online (at least, in my opinion).
With that in mind, that means that you have a TON, literally a TON of options for the route you choose to make money working online (for yourself, from anywhere you want to work).
It may seem like quite a daunting venture to explore but it's really not. There's just a few things you should consider or at least “know” before you get started.
I'm going to give you just a few “tips” if you want to call them that, which you can use to get started with “Internet Marketing” as soon as today.
Having said that, know that making money online (everyday) even if it's $20 every day, is a HUGE step, and it's really not as difficult as it may seem. Especially when get started. So read along and absorb as much as you can now and in the future.
The following content is meant to give you food for thought. You should apply your own methods and spin to everything you do, not just with this, but with everything you do in life.
Start Researching Your Approach
There are seriously hundreds upon thousands of ways and approaches to making money online. What you need to do is find something you can do and then find what works for generating traffic (and sales) for that “something” and scale it up.
Here are just a few ideas for making money from a computer (online):
-Writing / Copywriting
-Proofreading / Spell-checking / Text Editing
-Data Entry
-Affiliate Marketing (Promote products from Clickbank, Amazon, etc.)
-Selling Your Art, Craft, or Service Online
-Become a Virtual Assistant (Online assistant that does digital tasks)
-Sell Something On Fiverr (Product, Service, Art, Digital Product, etc.)
-Do Voice Over Work
-Create a blog and post content, monetize the content with ads & offers
-Graphic Design Work
-Become a Service Broker (Service Arbitrage)
-Create your own product (eBook, video series, software, etc.)
With any of these ideas, you will have to expand and add your own twist and personality to them. But these should just give you a few ideas for how you can start doing at least ONE thing online to make money.
Do some research on any of the above subjects to learn more.
Do Some Market Research
This is seriously a GIANT topic and it's always changing, so I won't be able to go too much into it. However, just knowing some of the basics and what the term “Market Research” even means will help you out a lot.
Essentially, market research refers to analyzing the market of your product or service to determine if it's profitable and worth the effort. There's a lot more that goes into it but this is the basic premise.
Generally, market research will consist of any of the following or even a combination of the following most times:
-Deciding on product / service / what's being offered
-Determining target demographic and market (size, who, where, what)
-Checking on potential competition
-Keyword research (finding out what terms to target SEO rankings, etc.
-Traffic strategies
-Delivery method
-Anything that pertains to analyzing the (profit) potential of a product, etc.
As you can see, it's not limited to just the above topics / fields, and while it may seem intimidating and like a lot of work – it's really not.
You just need to research a bit on market research. You can use Google to determine information about your target demographic, your competition, and even to dig up keywords that might be profitable. A little research...

There are many, many ways to make money online, and many of them are very simple and straightforward. The hard part is figuring out what really is the easiest. It depends on certain factors.
If you have lots of time & money to blow (and are willing to experiment and study), SEO marketing is dead simple. By SEO marketing, I’m referring to basically starting a webpage of some sort (more later), ranking it on Google, and then funneling that traffic to some sort of offer.
You can do affiliate marketing this way, but you can also do local rank & rent, lead collection, email list building, or even flip the site.
The money and time part is the kicker though. To really rank, you’ll have to use PBN’s. Building your own network of them or purchasing links will cost you a pretty penny either way. They are very effective for the money though. Once you figure out the best providers or methods, and how to do keyword research, you pretty much just have to wait on Google.
However, that really isn’t easy since a beginner will need to learn and do trial and error.
Domaining (Domain Flipping) is also somewhat simple and easy. As was the case with SEO, it could take some time and money. Still, it is very easy.
If you only want easy though, I would suggest PTC sites. Amazon’s Mechanical Turk and Swagbucks are my two favorites and personally helped me out through some rough times when I was in college. Basically, these sites ask you to do various tasks, and usually reward you with either straight cash (Mechanical Turk) or more commonly points (Swagbucks).
The tasks are extremely simple and can usually be done while watching TV, gaming, ect. The only downside is that you generally don’t make much from them. Depending on the amount of work/offers avaliable you may only make $1-$10 a day. Maybe more, but in general, it’s far less than US minimum wage. Regardless, it is the easiest money you can make online. It’s also quicker in a way. Yeah, you make very little per day, but compared to starting what is essentially a buissines, you can make cheapo spending cash quickly.
TL;DR: For quick & easy spending money go with a PTC site. For easy online money that can replace your dayjob, I would suggest that you look into domaining and Parasite SEO.

The easiest way is actually very hard.
Unlike most people think, there is no easy way to make money online anymore. People may find techniques that will bring you a lotta cash every now and then, but those methods ain’t for the long haul.
If you are serious about making money online, you need to do what you would do offline. Seriously, creating an online business ain’t much different from creating an offline business. You need to 1) work freaking hard, 2) deliver a lot of value and 3) be extremely consistent and reliable.
Imagine a business where you don’t really work hard. It will fail.
Imagine a business where your product’s value is low. You may have some costumers every now and then, but you’ll eventually have very few customers. It will fail.
Imagine a business that opens up randomly. Think of a TV show which goes on air randomly. It will fail.
As a blogger or an online businessman, you need to follow the same logic that you’d follow on an offline business. If your product is not better than the other, well-established blogs, why on earth would viewers leave their favorite blog for years to visit yours?
I am currently projecting to do about 20k online in 2017. I make money through different channels. Last month, a big blog shared a post of mine, and it went viral. I have made over $1000 that month, but I sure benefited from
Before starting an online business, think about what it takes to succeed and consider whether you have / you’re willing to do what it takes.

There are more great ways to make money on-line. However, most of them require your perseverance, skills, patience, and ambition. Here are a few of them:
- Trading online
Investing is one of the easiest money making methods only from a technical viewpoint, but in fact, this can be one of the most difficult methods for those who don’t have a serious attitude or are too emotional.
One can invest in stocks, currency pairs, commodities, indexes, and more.
Stock investing is one of the most recommended forms of investing because the volatility is lower and the companies are interested in increasing their profits (so, you can benefit from it).
Stock trading is similar to betting on a company performance. For example, there is the Apple stock that costs $100 today and you think that tomorrow its price will increase based on some new product launch, so it may be $120. Accordingly, if you would invest $10,000 today, you would have $12,000 tomorrow. However, these are only simplistic examples - in fact, everything is a bit more difficult.

Forex trading (trading the currency pairs) has the same principle - you select a pair (like EUR/USD) and try to predict its future movement and profit from it.
The important thing is to choose a decent broker, because there are many problematic brokers and even scams:

- Uploading viral YouTube videos
Some people seem to generate money by creating videos, uploading them on Youtube, and then make a passive income from the views that they get. This possibility is not available in all the countries.
In order to start making money on your clip, you’ll have to enable monetization. This implies that you are permitting YouTube to place ads in your video. This also means that you acknowledge that there is no copyrighted material in your video.
- You can monetize a video as it uploads by clicking the Monetization tab and checking the “Monetize with Ads” box.
- To monetize a video after it has been uploaded, open your Video Manager and click the “$” sign next to the video that you want to monetize. Check the “Monetize with Ads” box.
You can also set up Google AdSense for free.
Here is a video discussing how to make money via the Youtube:

- Sports Betting
Even if this kind of activity is viewed as one of the riskiest, if you could be patient and manage the risk - this can be a great money generating method. The important thing is to have a good experience in analyzing sports events.
In sports betting, you should look for very small total odds - like 2.00 or maximum 3.00, and then invest a larger amount of money.
It is very important to choose a reputable sports betting service, such as William Hills, Bet365, or Bwin.
It is also important to bet on very possible events - like over 1.5 goals in a football match, and something like this - very general and probable.
- Making money by starting a blog
If you like to write and express your ideas loudly, then blogging might be the right activity for you - and you can make money with this.
For example, one of the most common forms of making money via blogging is by advertising.
The ads on your blog will be graphics or images similar to billboards or ads in a magazine. Typically they are positioned on your site in the sidebar, header, footer or within your content. Sometimes they are referred to as banner ads.
Yet, there are more ways to generate money by blogging, such as affiliate marketing, writing sponsored posts, write reviews, and so on.
Here is a great article about how you can make money by blogging: How to Make Money Blogging - Updated Guide for 2016
Speaking about how much you can make, according to Forbes:
- Only 11% of respondents earned more than $30,000 (annually)
- 68% earned less than $5,000
- And 57% made less than $2,500
That said, some bloggers earn six-figure incomes and 6% of respondents indicated they make over $60,000 annually.
- Freelancing
If you are talented, you can just work from home and look for clients via special platforms. There are many huge platforms today that connect the employees with the workers. If you can write, are good at programming, photo, compose music, translate, etc. you can make a profile and just build your career online.
Here are the best sites to find work: The 7 Best Freelance Sites to Find Work
There are probably more great methods, but as you may notice, none of them is as easy as one might expect. You have to be motivated and have some good plan. And who said that making money should not require some effort?
I hope this helps!
